I shouldn't even get into how long this took me, and how many versions of this there are. Let's just all pretend to live in oblivion and say that I was able to get this result on my first try lolol

And thanks to her, I managed to end up using THESE colors instead of the god-awfulness that was my first try: [link] <--- Oh god, don't even look. I'm embarassed I even BEGAN such a disgraceful painting job. I definitely didn't approach it the right way.

Anyway, I'm super proud of THIS piece, how it turned out, and how it's poster-sized... though it was even BIGGER poster sized, with 600 dpi, for the longest time, and technically still could be 600 dpi poster size (11 x 15 inches) if I had enough RAM to move my darn coloring layer over to my original file. Because of ram issues, I ended up having to make this in 300 dpi, which is still amazing, but there's nothing like a good ol' 600 dpi running through the laser printer ;_;

The background took me 7 or 8 hours (I manually placed all 360 of those darn cherry blossoms individually). The coloring took me about 7 or 8 hours. The line art took me FIVE DAYS (on and off, working about 3-5 hours or so a night).

I probably could have worked a little more on this, but it just got to the point where I had to move on with life. I've put all my other work on hold, and it's beginning to catch up to me : /
