EDIT 12-28-07: Edited the black lines a bit to make them lighter. Makes a world of difference; the entire pic seems brighter now because of it. Check out the old versus new (old on top, new on bottom) here: [link]

Ahhhh, I lost my file for this entirely when Photoshop crashed, and I had saved a semi-complete jpeg version I wasn't really happy with... and in the end, I'm glad I lost that file, because this version is sooooo~~~~ooo much more along the lines of how I really wanted to draw this.
This piece was inspired by the idea that Sasuke is associated with the hawk, (and fire) at least according to the manga. Since Itachi seems to be affiliated with crows, it makes you wonder what Sasuke's true summon would have been if he weren't corrupted by Snake-man first.

The lineart for this is up for grabs if anyone wants to take a stab at my former version ([link])
If you'd like to color this, take your own stab at it (this is a link to the larger line art): [link]

yeah, although i've only seen itachi use crows in genjutsu. I don't recall seeing him summon them. i think masashi relates to his character rather than his ability. crows symbolize death and hawks symbolize loyalty which says a lot about sasuke when you think about it. coz he never betrayed the leaf, he just wants to kill his brother. so much that he didn't kill naruto because he didn't want to end up like itachi. and i think he is a lot more friendly toward his village than he lets on

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 10 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
The Cutting Edge is a weekly article that features brand new selected high quality art products that caught our eyes. Check out the cutting edge prints some of your fellow artists have submitted in the past week!
