Tablet Sketch: Wish My Command

Ahhhh this feels better. I haven't done a traditional lauraneato piece in a while.... I've been doing so many pieces where I've rigidly stuck to defined line art, that it felt REALLY good today to doodle this in my old familiar trademark way. I swear, I think I'm th eonly person I know here on DA who finds great comfort in chickenscratch lines lolol I call them scrapadoodles. That's probably is also why over half my gallery actually resides in my scraps section LOL

Ok the story behind this... I had this idea for a really great story/manga that's a challenge to even ponder, but I had this idea of what the main character would look like and decided it'd be fun to take a break from my homework and doodle the guy. I was able to get the face down right, but his hair proved to be a problem. I then started experimenting with diff hairstyles just for kicks,k and then ended up with this Trunks 'do and I was like "hellz, I'll just make him Trunks" so I did. You'll probably notice how I didn't rigidly stick to my normal dbz style for this one... and that's the reason behind it. I think after entering art school I've begun to pay a lot more attention to facial structures, esp. after taking my figure drawing class. Because of this, the way I draw jawlines and cheekbones has SEVERELY changed.... to the point that I know someone (there may be more of you out there) that for the past several pieces of mine, says they look like a totally different style. I don't think it's TOTALLY changed... but I think it's become more open-minded, that's for sure.

I never sketch Trunks anymore. It gets weirder and weirder for me every time lolol : P So ya, here's a sexy scrapadoodle Trunks for all you fangirls out there. (And I know you're pulling out your hair about this goheh, because of the line art, but please go easy on me XDDDD)

Oh yeah, and as a final note... I wanted to say that for this piece in particular, I used a lot of gestural influence. That's probably one of the reasons why I decided to keep the gesture sketch as a top layer... because it's a part of the piece in my opinion, rather than just the beginning stage.
