It's done! Finally!! I finished my first doujinshi! This entire story was created in a roleplay with nekoni back in october, during which I played Sasuke telling Naruto this exact bedtime story, word for word. It's funny because this story is actually VERY DULL if you read it aloud without visuals. I told nekoni I was going to make it into a doujinshi, because I had a great vision for it, and that night, I began page 1 of it. And though the story never changed, the color process definitely evolved. I may one day go back and recolor pages 1 and 2, actually, to match the color palette of later chapters lol.

I've been working on this particular page on and off since November (it gave me a HARD time, mapping out and laying out my sketches). I swear, each frame is from a different set of 3 week breaks from working on it rofl

I've been considering a sequel to this in honor of the new Narnia movie coming out soon. We'll see what happens with that. Until then, I hope you enjoyed this one : ) I had just as much fun drawing it as you guys had reading it!

HERE IS THE ORIGINAL ROLEPLAY SCRIPT, so you know -EXACTLY- what this story was based on. This story was originally based in a hospital. Sasuke was sick, and was given soup as medicine, but it turned out he had a strange reaction to it that made him more emotional than usual. It freaked Naruto out, so when Sasuke woke up the next day to find a new bowl of soup by his bedside, Naruto ended up downing the medicine before Sasuke, and he got all drugged up from it. So Sasuke tries to put Naruto to bed to calm him, since right beforehand, Naruto had been somewhat destructive:

SASUKE: Naruto, if you sit still, I'll tell you a story
SASUKE: *his hold on Naruto loosens a bit as he realizes Naruto hasn't tried to break their hug* Wanna hear it?
NARUTO: *nods his head enthusiasticly* is there a princess?
SASUKE: Would you like there to be a princess?
NARUTO: Yeah! I like those stories...
NARUTO: *starts to look a little drowsy*
SASUKE: If you get in bed, I'll tell it to you
SASUKE: *not releasing his hug, pulls Naruto up, but his legs give way, and is unable to*
NARUTO: *catches Sasuke, looking down at him* maybe you can be the princess
NARUTO: *walks over the the bed, supporting the other clumsily* and there can be a dragon and it wants to eat you
SASUKE: ... I can't be the princess, Naruto. I'm a boy. I'd be the prince
NARUTO: maybe I can be the dragon
SASUKE: *laughs a bit* ok, you can be the dragon
NARUTO: *sits them down on the bed with a grin* see I'm the dragon
NARUTO: But the dragon doesnt eat the prince. It wants to.
SASUKE: Once upon a time...
SASUKE: *freezes, realizing he's not very creative with stories*
SASUKE: there was a prince.... who..... wanted to marry a princess....
SASUKE: and...... so he thought, that if he were to find a princess, where better to look than look for a dragon, right?
NARUTO: I don't like this
SASUKE: because dragons tend to always somehow have princesses.
NARUTO: Oh! *grins and claps his hands, laying on the bed*
SASUKE: Yeah!
SASUKE: So..........
SASUKE: the prince set out on a journey
SASUKE: and found a dragon lair
SASUKE: and.... uh
SASUKE: he looked inside and saw a big, ferocious fire-breathing dragon
SASUKE: ..... and, the dragon was very angry
SASUKE: because, uh
SASUKE: *kicks his legs a bit, thinking*
SASUKE: he just was
NARUTO: the prince ate his breakfast!
SASUKE: yeah, the prince ate his breakfast
NARUTO: *pokes his tongue out at Sasuke*
SASUKE: so the dragon wanted to eat the prince, because of it
SASUKE: but the prince wasn't going to let the dragon do that, so he fought him valiantly
SASUKE: and ended up knocking him out
SASUKE: um.... and uh, saved the princess
SASUKE: oh wait
SASUKE: *scratches his head* was there a princess there?
NARUTO: yeah!
NARUTO: you can be the princess!
NARUTO: *blinks his eyes sleepily*
SASUKE: No, I'm the prince. I defeated the dragon
SASUKE: I'm not done with the story
SASUKE: So....
SASUKE: The prince goes off to the sunset, and realizes.... the princess..... was really....
SASUKE: uh... a..... um.... a bowl... of soup in disguise...??
SASUKE: and ... um *looks around for story elements*
NARUTO: *snores lightly, having fallen asleep*
SASUKE: Oh god *wipes his forehead* that was the hardest fucking thing ever.
