Derp! It's Hikaru no Go!
Image is an homage to Takeshi Obata, and a variation of Obata's opening page for Chapter 173 [link] , which occurs in the manga after the anime had already ended.
I was going to make a comic from this, but I don't have the time, so I'll just give away the idea behind this : )
Basically, Hikaru and Akira are playing Go, then Sai shows up behind Hikaru, taking him by surprise. Sai goes on about how he brought a souvenir back from the Shinigami world for Hikaru, and drops a Death Note in his hands. Hikaru says oh yay, I needed that! I wanted to record this game! So he immediately picks up a pen and starts writing Akira Touya's name.
Good luck, Hikaru! I get the fuzzy warm feeling inside that you're going to win this match!
